ABOUT STEVE ARMSTRONG Steve Armstrong is the founder of Armstrong Talent Development. Drawing on 20 years’ experience in leading talent-management programs and teaching professionals, Steve provides consulting and training services for law firms and other professional-service organizations. He emphasizes practical methods for improving the performance of professionals – at all levels of seniority – so that they can contribute more to their firms. For more than 20 years, he has also taught writing programs for lawyers in the U.S. and Canada and for federal and state judges. He conducts the opinion-writing segments of the Federal Judicial Center’s orientations for new district, bankruptcy, and magistrate judges, as well as programs for state Supreme Court and appellate judges. His program for lawyers have been conducted under the sponsorship of ALI-ABA, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and other major CLE organizations, and he has also taught in-house programs for law firms, in-house legal departments, and such government agencies as the SEC and FTC. With Professor Timothy P. Terrell, he is the co-author of Thinking Like a Writer: A Lawyer’s Guide to Effective Writing and Editing (3rd edition, 2008, Practicing Law Institute). Steve presents several programs in Canada in conjunction with Seminar Partners, including his acclaimed Writing to Persuade and Writing (and Editing) for Clarity and Impact half day and one-day seminars.
